Behavioral Services

A nurturing home environment designed for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with 24 hour care and community inclusion.

Our Behavioral Services take a positive, person-centered approach to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Rather than focusing on what to “fix,” we focus on understanding each individual, teaching new skills, and reinforcing positive choices — so every person can communicate, connect, and live with greater independence and dignity.

What We Offer

Positive, Person-Centered Behavioral Support

Functional Behavior Assessment

Our board-certified behavior analysts observe and assess to understand the "why" behind challenging behaviors, identifying triggers, needs, and communication barriers.

Positive Behavior Support Plans

Every plan is individualized, strengths-based, and focused on teaching replacement skills — never on punishment or restrictive measures.

One-on-One Intervention

Trained behaviorists work directly with individuals to reinforce positive choices, build coping strategies, and support meaningful progress.

24/7 On-Call Behaviorist

Behavioral support is available around the clock, ensuring continuity and rapid response whenever a concern arises at home, in residence, or in the community.

Staff & Family Training

We coach families, caregivers, and direct support professionals in consistent, positive techniques so progress carries into everyday life.

Crisis Prevention & De-Escalation

Proactive strategies and de-escalation techniques keep everyone safe, calm, and dignified during difficult moments.

Our Behavioral Philosophy

We believe behavior is a form of communication. Challenging behaviors often arise when an individual cannot easily express needs, manage sensory input, or navigate a situation. Our goal is to listen, understand, and respond with strategies that honor each person’s dignity while building the skills they need to succeed.

Understand Before We Intervene

Every plan begins with a thorough functional behavior assessment. Our board-certified behavior analysts observe the individual across settings, collaborate with family and staff, and identify the underlying reasons for behavior — whether sensory, communicative, environmental, or medical. This understanding ensures interventions address root causes, not just symptoms.

Teach Skills, Not Just Reduce Behaviors

The heart of our approach is teaching replacement skills. When an individual learns to communicate a need, regulate emotions, or complete a task independently, the challenging behavior naturally decreases. We celebrate every step of progress and build on strengths rather than focusing on deficits.

Consistency Across Every Setting

Progress only sticks when everyone is on the same page. We provide ongoing training and coaching to family members, caregivers, and direct support professionals so positive strategies are applied consistently at home, in residences, at day programs, and in the community.

Dignity, Safety & Data-Driven Progress

We track progress with clear data and adjust plans as goals are met. Above all, we are committed to dignity and safety — using positive reinforcement, de-escalation, and least-restrictive practices, never punishment or restraint. Our behaviorists are on-call 24/7 to provide support whenever it is needed.
